Privacy, in plain words.
What I collect
Only what you type into the signup box: your email address. Along with it I keep the date and time you agreed to receive emails, the wording you agreed to, and your approximate country (from the network, not your exact location). I don't use advertising trackers or sell anything.
Why
To send you the Gap Nomad letter: a short email when a new episode or idea is published. Nothing else. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Where it's stored
In a private, encrypted database run by Cloudflare, and in a private backup copy kept by me. If I later use an email service to send the letter, your email will be stored there too, only for that purpose.
Who sees it
Only me. I never sell, rent or share your email with advertisers or other companies.
How long I keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Then it's removed, apart from a minimal record that you opted out, so you're never emailed again.
Your rights
- See what I hold about you
- Correct it or delete it
- Withdraw consent and unsubscribe
- If you're in the EU/UK, complain to your local data protection authority
To do any of these, email hello@gapnomad.com. I'll reply within 30 days.
Children
The newsletter is not meant for anyone under 16. If you're under 16, please don't sign up.
California residents
I don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law. You can ask for access or deletion at the email above.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be emailed to subscribers first.
